I like to think I'm reasonably well educated when it comes to the 1959 Lincoln line up. Considering I own a 1959 Capri. On their tumbler post a few days ago they confused the 59 Mark IV with a Capri. It is an easy mistake the cars look quite similar, they being said when you run the social media site for Lincoln Motor Company perhaps you should actually know the history of the company you work for ! What a nifty idea! Please Lincoln let me run your social media sites. I promise I can do a way better job.

I wish they would. Dammit ze Germans cannot control the entire luxury market. I was born in the wrong decade.

Whats the difference between the Premiere and Capri? They look identical in this 1958 ad.

Also I don't actually know if the Facebook and Tumblr pages are run by FoMoCo or a 3rd party hired by FoMoCo. I could easily see the latter being the case, and the company being employed by all the OEMs, in which case such a mistake isn't at all surprising.

Also for reference

Cadillac is doing what Lincoln should be doing, or have been doing for many years but hey, better late than never.

From the outside the noticeable difference I am aware of appear on the side:

Kinja'd!!!

Premiere

Kinja'd!!!

Capri

And that is a good point but a little fact checking doesn't hurt when you send a post out to millions of people.

I'm in the process of putting together a major post. This news didn't surprise me. I found several mistakes on Porsche's official website. They got the names of their early prototypes mixed up.

That is what I am hoping. They need to get the ball rolling or they will go the way of Duesenberg.

Yikes that is a little pathetic. Does no one read a history book anymore?

And like I said the designs are very close but when you're running the social media page you should know that the Continental was technically not a Lincoln. So the Lincoln rolling across the top of the hood would have been a good hint.

I think they should fire the design team and let the Lincoln team design their own cars rather than only letting them put new panels on Fords. Also, give the cars actual names.

Names would be a good step in the right direction. Honestly luxury is all about cutting edge tech and prestige. If Lincoln really wants to compete a team of engineers needs to build a Luxury hybrid similar to the Fisker Karma. That would be exciting and the market would look at the company with new hope. I doubt that would ever happen however.

They should indeed. If they made a new flagship, it would have to be a hybrid, giving it the torque for it to not feel big and heavy/sluggish and that cutting edge image. They also have the advantage of seeing where Cadillac succeeded in recent years and where didn't. For example, some dislike that they can put down $75 000 for an ELR and get the same CUE infotainment system as any Chevrolet for a third of that price.

It will be interesting to see what time has in store for Lincoln. Right now unfortunately it looks a little grim.

Most people don't see a point of learning about people who died nearly a century ago. Car history has nothing to do with their jobs, unless their job has something to do with that topic. I noticed that the Porsche's official website in Deutsch language has the correct information.

They take more pride in the company because it is their heritage I suppose. As a history nerd I just never understood why more people don't find it interesting.
